Alice M. Scales

Alice Marie Scales was born on January 07, 1952 to Eugene A. Carter and Katie Mae Leggett-Carter in Swiftown, Mississippi. She was the third child of nine siblings. She accepted Christ at an early age. The family moved to Greenwood, Mississippi where she received her formal education in the Public School System. The family moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1976 and Alice worked at Bemis Bag Company, Wesley Hospital, and Loving Touch HHC. Alice was a sweet, fun, and loving person who did not mind helping others. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, modeling, traveling, dancing, playing cards, and being with family and friends, especially her dog (son) Killa, who she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Katie Mae Carter; brothers, Gene (Killa), John, Donald Rae, and Larry Carter. She leaves to cherish their memories of Alice, her daughters, Tammy Stewart of St. Louis, MO, Elisa Stewart and Deloris Scales of Wichita, Kansas; Goddaughter Charlonda Bernard of Denver Colorado. She was survived by her siblings, Maurice (Sharon) Carter of Oklahoma City, OK, Chris (Ann) Carter and Marvin Carter; sister Sandra (Dale) Vann and Jill Morgan all of Wichita, Kansas. She loved her three grandchildren, Previous Spring Spires, Terlisa Renae Spires, Demetrius Spires (MacDaddy) all of Wichita, Kansas, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, a very special niece, Cynthia (Jeff) Sabastian of Dallas, Texas.
