Barbara Kay Kenney (Lupton), 74, passed peacefully from this life on August 18, 2023, surrounded by family and friends. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will forever be cherished by her loving children Sarah Weyer, Catherine Stark, and Matthew Kenney, and her adored grandchildren, Keith and Nicole Weyer, and Elizabeth, Eva, and Joseph Stark. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband Roger Alan Kenney, sister Brenda O'Donnell, brothers Bob and Brad Lupton, and her parents Robert and Norma.
Barbara was a compassionate and creative woman who was always willing to lend a helping hand. She had a caring nature that touched the lives of all those around her. Her generous spirit and artistic inclinations were evident in her love of gardening, crafts, and the preservation of her community. Her passions led her to create a community garden where she welcomed anyone in the neighborhood to grow their own vegetables. When dining out, she had a gracious tradition of bringing small packaged toys to hand out to unruly children at other tables, bestowing a moment of peace to parents she did not know. She gained immense pleasure from watching over the well-being of those around her, and had a strong commitment to her friends, neighbors, and her community.
Barbara cherished her family above all else. She had a genuine interest in the passions and pursuits of her children and grandchildren. She was always quick to join a family board game, and accepted every social invitation that came her way. She truly appreciated every moment she spent with her family. Her joyful spirit brought warmth to everyone around her. With a heart full of sunshine, she spread light wherever she went.
