Clay was a WWII Veteran and fought as a marine and received the purple heart. He enjoyed oil and acrylic painting, gardening and being in his workshop building all sorts of projects - big and small. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife both domestically and abroad and square dancing. Clay loved to be outdoors and helping his friends and neighbors. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many school and community activities. He was a man true to his word and a handshake was his commitment to you. He remained faithful to Jesus and regularly volunteered at his church until he no longer was physically able. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at Risen Savior Lutheran Church.
