For those of you that knew me, and also for the ones who may not have known me as well, let me
tell you a story……..that you may or may not have heard, it was………………. and it was one H….. of
a day for my father and mother. This day came and went with no fanfare except for the people
present in the house in the woods of Deberry, TX. My big brother Harvey Williams was waiting for
me to get here and he turned out to be the best big brother in the entire world. So this would
make me the second of five children, Henry, Clyde, Sug, Brenda Faye, and Jimmy who were all
waiting for me to cross over to the other side. My father moved to west Texas where I learned to
be the great man I am today from him and my favorite uncle Richard.
From everyone and everything around me as I grew up,and from this point I never stopped
learning and growing, never perfect and always presistant. We moved to Wichita, KS. I attended
Middle School and East High School and worked at a local diner with my mother and brother Henry
until I started working with my father at Globe Construction and I worked there for 15 years and
then retired from Boeing after more than 27 years.
I met Bernestine King in 1968 and we married in 1969. Me and Bernestine had 4 children;
Bernia, Rob, Rodney and Rydell. I can truly say I don’t have a favorite child, I loved all my children
as well as Andre and nieces and nephews with a special place in my heart for India for providing a
place for my peaceful homegoing and cannot thank her enough. In my last words to my son
Robby, I told him “You are going to be alright”. You all will miss me but don’t mourn me because I
have been wanting to go for a long time, I have finished my race. I’m in the wings, I’m in the sun
and I’m in the rain, and anytime you want to feel my presence just observe the things around you.
I love you all and I haven’t went anywhere……
