Coquese Crosby Obituary

Coquese Yvonne (Williams) Crosby was born on February 10, 1955, to Charles Fields and Darlene Williams. To many, she was lovingly known as Janice, Tweet, and CoCo.

Today we gather to honor and celebrate the life of Coquese Yvonne(Williams) Crosby, a beloved mother, Daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Her early years were spent in Oklahoma City with her father, where she attended Corpus Christi Catholic School.

Tweet later moved to Los Angeles, California, where she attended John Muir Middle School and Manual Arts High School. During that time, she met Keith Bennett, and had one son, Kenneth Bennett. She later returned to Oklahoma City to be with her father for a period of time before moving to Wichita, Kansas, to live with her favorite aunt, Pat Brown.

While in Wichita, she met and married the love of her life Marvin B. Crosby. From this union, four children were born: Marvin (Reon), Coquese (Quese), Michael (Bucc), and Calvin Crosby.

Tweet was known for her loving spirit, joyful presence, and warm hospitality and plus she loved all of her Kids. Tweet worked at her father’s gas station and the Waffle House in Oklahoma City, as well as at Best Western and the Holiday Inn in Wichita, Kansas.

In 1995, Tweet moved back to Los Angeles, where she met Bubba, and had one daughter, LaQuita Mathews. She returned to Wichita, Kansas, until 2008 she moved to Dallas Tx, until 2010. Tweet return back to Wichita Ks, where she remained until 2018, when she moved back to Los Angeles to care for her mother, who preceded her in death.

Tweet returned to Wichita in 2022, where she continued attending North Ash Church of the Nazarene. She was a faithful member under Pastor Richard Woods until her health began to decline. Tweet loved the Lord and her church family deeply. Tweet found joy in playing bingo, going to the lake and beach, traveling, cooking, cleaning her home, dancing, and spending time with her bingo buddies. She was the life of the party. She always had a beautiful smile on her face.

Tweet was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Walker, her husband, Marvin B. Crosby, one son, Michael Crosby (Bucc), two sisters, Wilma Jean Williams and Kendra Fields, two brothers, Kenneth “Squirt” Bowie and Benny Fields, five grandsons, Marvin Jr., Calvin Jr., Amarion, Calvion, and Zy’Marion Crosby, two great-granddaughters, Summer J. and Ayla J. Crosby, and one great-grandson, Jermaine Allen.

Tweet leaves to cherish her memory: her father, Charles Fields (Emma) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, her children, Kenneth Bennett (Alena) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Marvin Crosby “Reon” (Kayshawna), Calvin Crosby, and a very special son, Terrell Hurt, Daughter Coquese Crosby (Quese) of Wichita, Kansas, LaQuita Mathews of Los Angeles, California; and a very special daughter, Alicia Crosby of Wichita, Kansas, Eight Brothers, Reggie Stanfield, David Walker (Monique), Ronnie Walker (Sonya) of Los Angeles, California, Keith Rowland, Charles Fields Jr and Terry Herron all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ronald Fields of Denver, Colorado, and Joseph Johnson of California, one brother-in-law, Dell Crosby of Wichita, Ks :Nine sisters, Cheryl Herron, Thelma LaVet Brady, Shannon Fields, LaRhonda Fields, Tamra Fields, Charzina Fields, and Melody FieldsWright (Maurice) all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Tasha Franklin of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and Sonya Fields of Denver, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Gloria Kiel (Steve) of Bel Air, Ks and Ellen Crosby-Johnson (Terrence) Forney,Tx; Twenty six grandchildren, Twenty six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Tweet was loved by many and will truly be missed. Her legacy will live on in every life she touched.
