David Sherman Obituary

David "Mike" Sherman the eldest son of David Sherman and Sue (Clayton) Sherman was born on May 23, 1958 in Wichita, KS.  He was proud of his close family history while living on the family farm in Pittsburg.  While growing up he also helped with the family bowling alley.  David never missed a beat, using his intelligence to become a great athlete all through his childhood and into high school.  At a young age David put his wants aside to help his family in any way he could.

At 14, David entered the world of construction, using his skills to build his business legitimately but, he always referred to it as a hustle.  He loved what he did however, growing his family with children became even more of a reason as he would say "to hustle and provide for his family", which he did.

He loved making money to give his children any and everything they wanted and needed.  Even when his kids were doing kid stuff he never got mad; he was always there showing his children and grandchildren what real unconditional love was.  He was always making his friends and family laugh.  He also sacrificed so much to save his daughter when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer.  His daughter is alive today and so grateful that her dad was there through her journey; the highs and the lows.

He is our hero who can never be replaced. His love, guidance, acceptance and perspective will live through his children and grandchildren.  He left us proud and happy.  He lifted all of us when we were down.  He was our Atlas, never worrying about carrying the weight of our world on his shoulders as long as we were okay.  He would have given his last to help a friend or family member.

David is loved by his remaining family; daughter Angela Sherman and her children Isaiah Morales his mini best friend, Ilijah Owens his little pistol Pete who he loved and as he would say "he was so energetic and smart like him :)"; Imiliya Sue Owens was his sweet baby girl, she lit up his world, making sure he ate and took his meds; he rushed to my side when she came early.  Daughter Megan Sanders who he was so proud of and was proud of how smart and far she has  come and will go with a loving heart as a grandmother and her children Kallee Sanders his first grandchild and his pride and joy.  He loved seeing her smile and pics of her little ones Josiah and Paisley; also, his little super star Karly who was also a miracle baby.  He loved her energy, independence and all star "go get EM attitude", never settling for anything less than he felt she deserved.  David is also survived by his sister Patricia Maupin and her family, as well as other relatives and friends.

He was so grateful for his family and friends who stuck with him until the end.

We will forever miss you Pa!!!
