Emily Epps was born on December 29, 1953, to Leona and Frank Epps Sr. in Crawfordsville, AR.
Emily was the third of 9 children. The family relocated to Wichita, KS in 1958, where Emily attended Wichita public schools. Emily started working in the medical field at the tender age of 14. Her hard work and dedication allowed her to raise four children as a single mother as well as transform the job she had at 14 into a 55-year career in healthcare. Emily retired from Interim healthcare in 2023. Emily gave her life to Christ and was a minister and faithful member of God's House COGIC under Proph-et Blessed Cameron Roberts.
On Sunday, July 21, 2024, Emily laid down her cross, and took up her crown from Wichita, KS. Emily was preceded on the journey to the oth-er shore by her parents, Frank and Leona Epps; brothers, Amos Smith and Frank Epps Jr; Son, Tony Epps Sr. ; and grandson, Lavell Hutton.
Emily leaves to cherish her memory 1 son, Marcus Epps of Wichita, KS; 2 daughters, Ta-mala (Reginald Sr) Hunt of Wichita, KS and LaToshia (Robert IV) Strain of Kansas City, KS; 3 brothers, Randy (Louella) Epps, Greg Epps and Bruce Epps of Wichita, KS; 3 sisters, Joyce Epps, Carolyn (Steve) Barksdale and Shella Epps all of Wichita, KS; 6 grandsons, Cameron Starr, Tony Epps Jr., Robert Strain V, Dylan Epps, Reginald Hunt Jr. and Marcus Epps Jr.; 5 granddaughters, Shanaye Sanders, Tajeeaunna Epps, Brierra Epps, Risia Hunt, and Rashanti Hunt; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and close friends. Emily's physical presence will be truly missed, but her love will forever remain in our hearts.
