James M. Morris

James Monroe Morris, of Wichita, KS passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the presence of loved ones.  James was born on July 9, 1949, in Hattiesburg, MS, to Emma Lee Morris and Percy Morris Sr.  James attended Rowan High School before relocating to Wichita, KS with his mother, siblings and other family.  Throughout his time in Wichita, James shared a shoeshine business with his eldest brother, Percy, and coined himself quite the ladies’ man.  In his younger days, James prided himself on his fancy clothes and Lincoln Continental cars.  He was proceeded in death by his mother, Emma Lee Morris and his father Percy Morris Sr.  He was also proceeded in death by his son Jerome D. Morris; brothers; Percy Morris, Sylvester Morris, David Morris, and his two sisters; Minnie Trenka and Velma Morris.  James leaves to cherish his memory, son Pastor DeAndre Morris (Dr. Stacie); daughter Alexis Morris and a host of grandchildren, family and friends.
