Marcus Edward Stewart Jr. known to everyone as MJ, was born to Marcus and Anika Stewart Sr. at Wesley Medical Center on September 23, 2004, in Wichita, Kansas.
MJ attended Brotherhood Presbyterian Church as a preschooler at the age of four. After his preschool graduation, MJ attended Jackson Elementary from kindergarten through the fourth grade. MJ started his homebound program during the middle of his fourth-grade year. Teachers at Jackson Elementary were instrumental in his learning as they were committed to providing curriculum once a week. During this time, teachers were present in the home working with MJ on enhancing his writing, reading and math skills.
After Jackson Elementary, MJ attended Coleman Middle School. It was at this time, MJ transitioned to a complete homebound program, and was provided curriculum twice a week. After Coleman Middle School, MJ was enrolled at Southeast High School.
MJ was passionate about music. He loved to dance, sing, and draw amazing pictures. He enjoyed making his family laugh. MJ forever carried a rememberable smile on his face.
On Friday October 29, 2021, MJ transitioned into his new life of freedom and peace.
MJ was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, his great-aunts, and cousins.
MJ leaves behind his parents, Marcus and Anika Stewart Sr., his sister Brianna Stewart. Grandparents, Ben Stewart, Terry Stewart, and
Debra (David) Thomas all of Wichita, Kansas. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, doctors, nurses, and friends.
