Let’s Celebrate Quell’s Life------------Marquell Hill was born on a beautiful, sunny May 1, 1985 in Wichita KS., the son of Tyree Colbert and Sherrvonda Hill. Marquell lived in the home with his mom, stepdad, and three younger siblings. Marquell’s childhood and younger years were difficult at times, but over time life events had moved him to the wonderful home of Ms. Dorothy Collins and her children. We were all excited to love on him. She became more than his grandmother. She became “mama.” She healed her baby’s mind, body, and soul. Marquell’s life thrived in school.
He was not a trouble maker, nor a follower, he was smart and attentive, and a very bright kid. As a young boy Marquell could be quiet and invisible at times because he liked playing games and pulling pranks on people, but he was so cute, who could stay mad at him, even then his light shined bright. He grew up on the southside of Wichita, hanging with his sister-cousin, Lamica. These two were like peas in a pod getting in and out of mischief. In those years Marquell started riding the church bus with his Aunt Erica, attending First Pentecostal Church going to the Teen Outreach Classes. Ultimately making the choice to be baptized in the name of Jesus. Marquell was not a religious young man, however he knew how to pray and who to pray to.
Quell always had a smile and positive energy flowing for those who loved him back. He began working different jobs over and under the table, but Quell liked his money and by this time he was finding his way in life. His walk sometimes landed him in places he did not want to be, but God always came to his rescue. One of his favorite last jobs was working with animals on a farm, he was at home naturally with the animals. Quell himself loved dogs, his passion for dogs was amazing, it showed his heart and the compassion he always carried with him. He was a Real Friend, loyal and genuine. Especially under the role of dad, this was always a proud title he earned and the older he got the better he became at Fatherhood. His children loved him, always wanting to be with their dad. Quell was finding stability in life and building better relationships with loved ones in the midst of entering into Eternity. At the end of his life Marquell and God had a heavenly encounter. God saw the intercession for his son and came to his ransom, God’s Grace and mercy shifted and changed the course of Marquell’s everlasting life.
