Musa “Moses” Saul Njie (33) was a caring son, loving brother, beloved grandson, devoted uncle, and incredible friend to many; who dearly departed us on March 26, 2023.
He was born to Ida Sillah and Saul Njie on July 14, 1989 in Wichita, Kansas. He loved being an older brother, eventually welcoming nieces later in his life whom he loved immensely equal. After graduating high school in 2007, Musa attended Wichita State and Butler County Community College, while working various positions and places around his hometown before landing at Sherwin Williams in Andover, KS; transferring to their Phoenix, AZ location, where he gained new experiences and friends…living life with as much zest as he could in the brief time he was there.
Musa thoroughly enjoyed comedies, movies, and sports; with a principal passion for basketball and often went to games or played whenever he could…watching the legendary Kobe Bryant play in person, was a pinnacle event he held dear to his heart. He was a lover of all things intellectual and international, especially culture, food and history… and loved sharing what knowledge he had (or giving a listening ear to yours) with those whom he enjoyed being around or sometimes a stranger he simply met. He loved spending time with family and friends; thus creating laughter and memories that are as commemorative and endearing as his spirit. His wisdom was deep, his level of intellect and the impact of his presence were off the rankings of normalcy, and his skill for connecting with and understanding people is why his legacy is as indelible as he, and will continue to live beyond the 33 years he was present with us here on Earth.
He is survived by his mother Ida, sisters Aji Fatou, Sohna, YaKura, and Ndeyamie. He’s preceded in passing by his father Saul Njie, and leaves behind a larger family who miss him beyond measure including his nieces, cousins, uncles, acquaintances, friends and co-workers, as well as a few dear friends whom he revered as brothers.
