Nathaniel Johnson Jr. was born on May 20, 1933 in Tuscaloosa, AL to Nathaniel Sr. and Clara Johnson. Leaving the South pretty early on in life, it was in Wichita, KS where he made his home. Known and loved by many as Jr. Johnson , Daddy Johnson, Unc, or simply just as Nate, his smile and laugh were contagious and one that we will never forget. Nathaniel was married for many years to Lorrene Dismuke Johnson in which five children were born from this union: Jacqueline Mitchell (Jackie), Terry Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Sheila Smith, and his baby boy Ricky Johnson. He is also father to son Wayne Johnson. Nathaniel was a very hard working man (Learjet retiree, Military Veteran). Even as a man with great pride, he still had a soul full of love and many stories to tell. He was a solid provider to his family and had a great passion for; listening to the Blues, watching westerns, cooking, traveling, shooting pool, he loved a good trip to the casino and in 2022 he was still a diehard Dallas Cowboys Football fan!! He also loved wrestling, so you knew not to call him while his wrestling was on!! He also had a love for horses, once belonging to the Wichita Roundup Club where he had his two prized horses; Judy and Susan that he loved to tell stories about. While wearing many different hats throughout his life as a husband, a father, or a friend, his hat as a grandpa or our "Papa" was one that he was so proud about. He shared a very close and special relationship with all of his grandkids. Nathaniel Johnson Jr. is preceded in death by his wife Lorrene Johnson; daughter Jacqueline (Jackie) Mitchell; son Ricky Johnson; his father Nathaniel Johnson Sr.; his mother Clara Johnson; his brothers Bobby Johnson, Arthur (Bully) Johnson, William (Billy) Johnson; his sisters Estelle Johnson and Ernestine Oliver. Nathaniel leaves behind to cherish his memory his children; his brothers Sylvester Johnson, Thearthur (Red) Johnson; his sister Willie Willis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and even a few great-great grandchildren.
