Nigel Dwight Springwater, born on September 28, 1980, passed away on December 22, 2024, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He entered heavens gates with his family by his side. He was 44 years old. Nigel was the cherished son of Clifford Wright Springwater and Tina Lynn Springwater (Jones). He spent his early years in Wichita, Kansas, where he grew up before later moving to Ponca City, Oklahoma. Nigel deeply valued his family and found great joy in spending time with his wife, Erica, and their children. A gifted home chef, Nigel delighted in preparing elaborate meals for his loved ones, creating cherished memories around the dinner table. Nigel was a diehard OU Sooners and Denver Broncos fan. He enjoyed watching football and sharing that passion with those close to him. He also loved to go fishing with his sons and brothers. In his adolescence he was deeply involved in his culture and heritage. His dance style of choice was grass dancing. He also sang in a traditional drum group. In his later years of life, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Alaya Springwater, Jose Springwater Lopez, and Nyveah Salome. He is preceded in death by his mother Tina, his Paternal Grandfather Crawford A. Springwater, his paternal Grandmother Edna M. Springwater (Thirsty), his maternal Grandfather Wayne F. Jones, retired Wichita police officer, his Maternal Grandmother Lola Waggoner, and Brother Seth Elihu Springwater. He is survived by his wife Erica and sons Samuel and Gage Springwater of the home, daughters Ashley and Alyna Springwater, son Diego Salome, Brothers John Paul and Chris Oliver of Wichita, KS., Christian Elijah Springwater, of Ponca City, Ok., Michiah Lewis Springwater, of Tahlequah, Ok., Sisters Raven and husband Justin Marshall, of Tulsa, OK., and Hannah and husband Jaime Hernandez, of Ponca City, OK., and numerous nieces and nephews. Nigel’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his loss.
