Obituary

Steve was born and raised in Wooster, Ohio, leaving there to join the United States Air Force at 19. He retired a MSGT after proudly serving his country for 20 years as a security police officer.  He was stationed to 12 bases spanning 6 states & 4 foreign countries while getting to work with every branch of the military. During that time he trained with the Rangers, fought in the Vietnam War and was an instructor where he was known as a leader, friend & mentor by many.  After retiring from the Air Force he continued his security training for many years while working at several local hospitals. Steve was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and an active member of St. Vincent De Paul Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather who always told us all we were his “favorite”.  He never met a stranger, treated everyone as family and loved to talk about his time in the Air Force and how proud he was of his family members.  We will always remember your gentle, fun-loving spirit and hear you singing “You Are My Sunshine” to us all.

He is preceded in death by parents Richard & Marjorie Shultzman; brothers John & Michael Shultzman; niece Kendra Shultzman.

He is survived in death by his wife of 51 years Claire; daughters Michelle (Brad) Train, Amy McCune (Chad-deceased), Jennifer (Chris) Anderson; 13 grandchildren Shelby, Colby (Mariana), Bailey (Dakota), Andrew, Abigail, Jacob, Brooklynn, Riley, Ethan, Kennedy, Oliver, Olivia, Hudson; 2 great-grand daughters Ryan & Arya; siblings Terry (Bonnie) Shultzman, Julia Weiss (Frank-deceased), Jeannette (Ronald) Rudolph, Kay Cunningham (Mark-deceased), Kenneth (Laura) Shultzman, David (Susan) Shultzman, Cynthia (Steve) Byler, Karla (Anthony) Brady.
