Sherman Tisdale

Sherman Wayne Tisdale Sr was born on February 14, 1967, in Wichita, KS to Donald Tisdale Sr. and Lucy Wells. He was the second oldest of four children.  Sherman graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, KS in 1986. He later graduated with a Business Administration degree from Everest College.  Sherman was the father of three children. He was employed with numerous landscaping jobs, owned a cleaning business and when he could, helped his Aunt Betty Washington at Geno’s BBQ. Sherman was a man of many talents and very good with his hands. He loved learning and experimenting to make a job easier. He was the go-to person in the family if you needed help with anything. Sherman was the one you would call to have anything done; from building a fence, to cleaning a home, manicuring a yard or even help moving. Sherman was very proud of his work and liked to share pictures to show his completed projects. He often helped his devoted cousin, Destiny Gilkey, with different projects, and he enjoyed their quality time together including nerf-gun fights with her children. He was a jokester and the children of the family loved playing around with him.  Sherman ran track in high school, was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and loved to ride and work on his motorcycle. He could be an introvert, but also enjoyed spending time with his kids and family. Sherman and his infectious smile will be truly missed.

Sherman is preceded in death by his son Sherman Tisdale Jr., his mother Lucy Wells, his father Donald Tisdale Sr., and his sister La’Creica Tisdale.

Sherman leaves to cherish his memory his children Da’Chele (Lashunda) Davis Tisdale and Mikala Tisdale; his stepmother Drameta Tisdale; his siblings Donald Tisdale Jr. and Brandee Wilson, his grandchildren J’Miyai Wright, E’Liyah Barnett and Lennox Davis-Tisdale, and a host of other relatives and friends.
