Tyrone Waller Obituary

On September 17th 1956, Curley and Phyllis Waller welcomed Tyrone Vern Waller. Their second child and only son. Eventually growing their family to five children (Sheridan, Tyrone,Shirl, Tonya, Tara) the Wallers made sure their children were deeply rooted in love, Christ, and discipline. Tyrone was a quiet, reserved man who kept his circle small, but those fortunate enough to be part of it knew his loyalty ran deep. He was a hardworking man in every sense of the word. Whether it was his job, cooking a meal, keeping a yard in order, or taking care of the people he loved, he never stopped working. Even in his later days, he spoke with determination about getting himself back in shape and returning to work with Jesse , always carrying that same drive and sense of purpose. He attended Isely, Hamilton, and Southeast Magnet High School, graduating with the Class of 1974. After high school, he built a life through honest, physical work, holding positions at places like Cox Produce, UPS, WSU and St. Thomas Aquinas before finding his long-term home at Newman University. There, he dedicated 20 years of service before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of reliability and quiet dedication. In 1979, Tyrone met the love of his life, and from that moment on, their bond remained unbreakable. Her brothers and sisters said they were glad she finally brought home somebody normal. They would soon embrace him as their own brother .Through every season of life, they always found their way back to each other. Together they built a family, and in 1996, he became the proud father of his only daughter, who was the center of his world and his greatest accomplishment. He later became a grandfather to three grandchildren Ryan Nulan, Zion Nulan, and Byron Nulan, who brought him endless joy. He loved them in his own quiet way — through small gifts, shared laughs, selfies and moments that spoke louder than words ever could. Tyrone was a man full of wisdom, stories, and life experience. He loved sharing memories of his childhood and reminding younger generations how much times had changed. Stories about walking 5 miles in the snow up hill just to go to school or stories about how he had to take Tara’s cloth diapers to the laundromat.( don’t worry we switched her to disposable last month.) Though he could seem tough or distant at first, those who truly knew him saw his humor, his playfulness, and his youthful spirit. He loved music, basketball, wrestling, cooking shows, cars, dominoes, and simple drives to grab a soda or a burger. He wasn’t a man who said “I love you” often, but he showed it every day through his presence, his sacrifices, and his unwavering care. He was a provider, a protector, and a constant source of strength for his family. He took care of the people he loved without hesitation, and his love was always understood, always felt.   Tyrone’s legacy lives on through his daughter, his grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and all those who were blessed to know the man behind his quiet strength
